The harvest of Acai is done from early August until December. The natives climbs the palm tress reaching 30 to 40 metres heights to cut the branches with the purple acai berries. At Amazon Power, we’re passionate about the environment, and that’s why the harvest of the Acai fruit is performed manually without cutting or damaging the palm tress on which the berries are found. The manual harvest of the berries also provides a living for the local indigenous tribes and in doing so stops them from cutting down the trees and trafficking native to make ends meet.
Our Process of Acai
The harvest of the Acai Berry usually occurs early in the morning before the sun can heat the trunk of the trees. The Acai Berry is stored in hand made baskets and then transported by small boats to the factory that processes the fruit pulp.
Cleaning Process of Acai in Our Factory
At the factory the Acai is turned into a fruit pulp and then snap frozen to ensure the Berries stay fresh and keep their nutrition. This process has been perfected over many years of experiance to retain all the original properties of our Acai Berries.
Refrigeration of Acai in Our Factory
Next the frozen Acai pulp is refrigerated transported to “Amazon Power” manufacturer who then turns this pulp into its’ well known Acai products. The refrigeration process is carefully monitored and controlled to ensure that the level of crystalisation does not effect the original high quality.
Grinding of the Frozen Acai in Our Factory
The Amazon Power supplier grinds the Acai frozen pulp and adds guarana syrup (caffeine free) creating a wonderful refreshing fruit cream also known as “The Original Acai Bowl”. Amazon Power then packages the product in a variety of sizes from 140 grams tubs al the way to 10 kg bucket.
