As they noticed that similarity they realized that one missing thing from their homeland could be a turning point and an excellent opportunity to share with the Australians. Save the Amazon | | Destruction and deforestation of Brazil's Amazon rainforest is an issue of world concern. Considered the "lungs of the planet" because of the huge amounts of oxygen produced by its trees, and home to up to 30 per cent of the world's animal and plant life. It is claimed that the increase in deforestation was mainly due to increased logging by farmers and locals.
It is thought the sustainable harvest of the Acai will present hope to the Amazon forest and its villages’ economies. It offers them an alternative means of earning money and could make local villagers and indegious tribes stop the cutting down of forest to sell wood, or cease the trafficking of native wildlife.
